BEACHESThere are three beaches: the central beach of Riells, the fascinating Cala Montgó (also known as "diving paradise"), and the long beach of Empúries. This beach is composed of five small coves and leads to the next town called: Sant Pere Pescador.CLIMATEL'Escala has a very pleasant climate, with warm temperatures until autumn. We'd like also to mention the wind called "Tramuntana", which comes from the north, and it appears almost unexpectedly for a few days, leaving behind a clear blue sky.
GASTRONOMYThe gastronomy of L'Escala is not only known for its "Anchovies" and the diversity of fish in the Mediterranean, but is also known for very good restaurants, which together with the typical tourist menus prepares some delicious dishes of paella, fideuà andother Catalan specialties.
